Install ELAN agent
Connect the server first interface with the Internet router and the second one, on a port of a switch that will become a trunk port (all VLANs tagged).
Navigate to the IP address of the agent or use https://elan-agent.origin-nexus.com if you are behind the agent.
Configure the IP if needed
Register Network Controller to ELAN Center by entering your administration credentials. This will create default VLANs and VLAN rules.
Note
You may go to configure them in the VLAN tabs of the Agent Configuration you just registered.
Add SNMP credentials that you will use for your switches in the configuration tab of the Agent Configuration.
Configure the switch:
Declare the VLANs as they are configured for the agent.
Configure the agent port by making it a trunk port: This port should receive every VLAN configured as tagged. This is what gives visibility to the agent to report every device on the network.
Configure SNMP. Agent should at least have read access with the one of the credentials you have configured.
Depending on you switch capabilities, use ONE of the following configurations for all other ports (except for ports used to stack switches). For maximum features, use the first that matches your switches capabilities.
Configure Switch administration VLAN to the Infrastructure
VLAN.
Warning
You may loose connectivity to the switch when changing the administration VLAN.
Tag discovered devices in ELAN Center: Infrastructure
for the switches, VoIP
for the phones and Corporate
for corporate devices.
