Guest AccessΒΆ

There are 2 types of guest access:

User Policy Agreement:

The guest only needs to accept the policy to be considered as authenticated.

This authentication will expire after Max Authorization Duration or when the guest access configuration is updated. The user will then have to accept again the User Policy Agreement.

Among with the User Policy, you can ask the user some information by adding some registration fields.

Description will be showed above those registration fields and User Policy Agreement, just below.

Sponsored Guest Access:

With this type of guest access, the user must gain authorization via a sponsor, typically a member of your staff.

This enables delegation of guest authorization on the network.

Just like :ref:User Policy Agreement guest access, the user will have to accept the policy and enter the information you asked for in the registration fields. Once validated, an email send to Fixed Recipients and, if Recipient Validations are configured, to a sponsor the user will have entered.

That email will direct the sponsor to the ELAN center for authentication and approval of the guest.

Note

At least a Recipient Validation or a Fixed Recipient must be configured.

Duration of the authorization can also be set by sponsor, but can not be longer the the one configured in Max Authorization Duration.
